Together, they would rule their pack together, guarding sacred sites for the Keepers. But then, Calla saves a beautiful human boy, who captures her heart. But will she follow her heart if it means losing everything, including her own life?

My Review / Thoughts:

I have been kind of MIA lately.  I had this fantastic opportunity to go in for an emergency appendectomy.  I hope that I didn't miss posting stuff I was suppose to post, but today is the first day I feel kind of human again.

Now, onto the book.  I really liked Nightshade, it was a lot of fun to read (well listen too:)).  I liked how the wolves could go back and forth from wolf form to human form whenever they wanted.  They didn't have to wait for a full moon.  I like that Calla does her own thing.  She is the alpha and is expected to do things a certain way, but she is determined to question the choices that are placed before her.  She is torn between being the alpha wolf and being who she wants to be.

When she meets Shay, the human boy, her life gets more complicated.  She is given the charge to protect him, and in the mean time their relationship begins to develop and questions about how Calla has grown up and been told her whole life come into question.  A life she has come to know as the end all be all, is in fact not what it seems.

Calla decides that she can no longer just follow what she is told to do.  She is going to question and stand up for what she thinks is right.  It comes to a choice between her pack and finding the truth.  Calla finds herself torn between family and what is right.

It's a great book of deception, adventure, love and loyalty.  I cannot wait to see where the rest of the series takes me.
