DESCRIPTION:
Seven years ago, Cambri Blaine fled her small hometown of Bridger, Colorado after her senior year of high school ended in a fiasco. But now her father needs help, and Cambri has no choice but to return home. So with trepidation, she takes a leave of absence from the landscape architecture firm where she works and heads home, hoping against hope that Jace Sutton is no longer around and that the past can stay where it belongs-in the past. If only life worked that way. Jace never expected to see Cambri again. After she walked out of his life without a backward glance, he was left with no choice but to try to forget her and move on. But now that Cambri is back and looking more beautiful and sophisticated than ever, some of those old feelings resurface, and Jace instinctively knows, for the sake of his heart, that he needs to avoid her at all costs. If only it were that easy.

MY REVIEW / THOUGHTS:

So, it's back to reality...no more Christmas :(.  I took a few weeks off from the blog to share with my family and loved every minute of it.  It's now back to reality.  I am always sad about that.  This was a great way to start the new year though.  Although I do need to start paying more attention when I sign up for review to see if they are part of a series or not ;).

I have not read any other books in the ripple effect series, but am sad that I haven't.  I will have to fix that problem pronto.  This was such a sweet, feel good story.

Cambri thinks that her life is all that she has ever wanted and then her dad has a heart attach, making her return to her childhood home that she never wanted to return to.  She also had to return to help her father, who she never felt she was good enough for.  How sad is that?  She also ran away from some things in her hometown that she didn't think she was ready to face.

Then walks in Jace.  Let's just start with his name.  Jace...Yes, please ;).  I love a man to swoon over in a book.  The the short pages of this novel, it is very easy to fall in love with Jace.  It's also very easy to feel bad for him.  Such a hard worker, and loyal grandson.  He was such a great character.  He had such a great personality.

Cambri, I liked because she seemed like a strong woman to me, just a little afraid of facing things from the past.  Although, going into my past would be a terrifying thing ;).  I would never want to live those years again...hehe.  She was feisty, and had a good head on her shoulders, and a great career.  Made me happy that she was an independent woman....Until returning home, and realizing that independence isn't all it's cracked up to be.

This is such a sweet story, of love, missed opportunities, and forgiveness.  I cried happy tears in this book.  Who doesn't love a sappy romance?  Well if you do, then shame on you ;).  Sappy romances are so fantastic.  They can't help but make you feel happy.

If you want, a sweet, sappy (and in my opinion "sappy" is a huge compliment), quick story to read this is just the book for you.

I love how much I felt for these characters.  So much so, that I wanted the book to keep going, it was then that I realized that it's #3 in the series.  Although I think each can be read as a stand alone, but it would have been fun to read the ones before.  Like I said before, I am going to fix that pronto :).

It's so beautifully written, that I just wanted to sit on the front porch in the story and bask in the beautiful landscape.  I felt like I was while reading.  Such a cute story!

Source:  I was given this book in response for an honest review.  I was not compensated in any way for this review.  These are my own PERSONAL thoughts on the book.

MY RATING:

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Rachael Anderson
pic and bio taken from Goodreads

A USA Today bestselling author, Rachael Anderson is the mother of four and is pretty good at breaking up fights, or at least sending guilty parties to their rooms. She can't sing, doesn't dance, and despises tragedies. But she recently figured out how yeast works and can now make homemade bread, which she is really good at eating.

    1. This was so stinking cute. I need to pick her other ones up. I am not observant enough to have seen it was a novella....I don't like reading out of order, but this one was fine on it's own. And again, so stinking cute! I am sure I will enjoy her other novels!
